Season: September to December
Description: Broccoli is technically part of the cabbage family. Caesar probably ate it, and the Italians have loved the stuff since the Roman Empire. In fact, they brought it to America when they immigrated, but it didn't become popular until the 1920s. Broccoli is high in vitamins C, K, and A, as well as dietary fiber.
