Season: July to September
Description: Bell peppers are members of the chili family and can be eaten in many ways: raw, stir-fried, stuffed, etc.
They are native to Central America (Mexico remains one of the major pepper produces in the world) and were introduced to Spain and Portugal by returning explorers.
When choosing bell peppers, pick peppers with bright, smooth skin, without wrinkles.
Did you know? Bell peppers don’t contain capsaicin, the heat producing compound in other chilies.
