Season: July to August
Description: Ripe raspberry bushes produce red, purple, and golden varieties in mid-summer and require lots of sunlight and water to thrive. They are considered weeds by some gardeners and landscapers as seeds can randomly sprout from bird’s droppings and then grow rapidly into thorny vines. Raspberry flowers are a major source of nectar for honeybees in America. Each berry has around 100 juicy drupelets, with a seed in each one, resulting in a very high fiber content – up to 20% of its weight. With 9 types of anti-oxidants, eating the well-known and delicious raspberry can also be extremely beneficial for health and longevity.
